Expanding slag recycling technologies worldwide

Andrey Korablin
15 May 2025Last update: 24 Mar 2026

As an expert in the field, I have been involved in metallurgical waste recycling and the sale of recycled products for 18 years around the world. During this time, I've seen first-hand that approaches to the disposal and reuse of metallurgical residues vary greatly from country to country. In some places, recycling has reached an industrial scale and is supported by government initiatives, while in others even basic sorting of slags and dusts is absent. The goal of this article is to highlight the opportunities that are opening up for European — especially German — companies with experience and technologies in this field beyond their domestic markets.
